LTC: Models for Change

Public libraries that serve small, mid-sized or rural communities are invited to attend a free dialogue and deliberation workshop at the 2018 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in New Orleans.

Through Libraries Transforming Communities (LTC): Models for Change, a two-year ALA initiative with the National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD), library professionals may participate in the workshop free of charge.

"Libraries Transforming Communities: Dialogue & Deliberation for Small, Mid-sized, and/or Rural Libraries" will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018. Participants must view three 90-minute webinars as pre-work for the session.

To register for the workshop, click "register" or "sign in" below.

NOTE: Library professionals from small or rural public libraries may also apply for one of 25 travel stipends of $800 each to help offset the cost of travel and lodging at the 2018 ALA Annual Conference. You will have the opportunity to apply for a travel stipend in the application.

LTC: Models for Change is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services grant RE-40-16-0137-16.

LTC: Models for Change Series 3 highlights dialogue and deliberation models most useful for public libraries serving small and rural communities. (Learn more about our earlier offerings, Series 1 for public libraries serving large or urban communities or Series 2 for academic libraries.)
