Information for GSC “Origins of Teen Violence and Suicide” Grantees

    Survey for Teen Readers (grantees are asked, though not required, to administer a reader survey for each of the three GSC books)

    Workshop Information and Resources

    • Workshop agenda, March 9-10, 2017 (PDF)

    • If the grantee library has not received a prior GSC grant and participated in a corresponding workshop, they will receive travel and lodging support to attend the in-person orientation for “Nature vs. Nurture: Origins of Teen Violence and Suicide.” This session will take place in Chicago, IL on March 9-10, 2017.
    • Grantees that have already participated in the GSC program and received support for a staff person to attend a prior orientation workshop will not receive support to attend the in-person orientation for the new theme. Instead, they will be included in an online training workshop, date TBD.
    • Additional information about training will be posted on January 16.

    Timeline

    • Application deadline: December 30, 2016
    • Award notification: January 16, 2017
    • Award Materials ship (11 copies of each book; promotional materials, including customizable posters, bookmarks and brochures): January 31, 2017
    • Introductory Webinar: TBD (webinar will also be archived for asynchronous viewing)
    • Workshop: March 9, 2017, 3:00-5:00 p.m.; March 10, 2017, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in Chicago, IL
    • GSC reading and discussion events hosted: March 1 – August 31, 2017
    • Final reports due to ALA: 30 days following your last program, OR by September 29, 2017
